Alex oversees the firm’s business development operations and digital communications, and strategy for various corporate, political and public affairs clientele. Alex has been an integral part of the firm’s creative team in developing targeted communications that led to the firm’s prestigious Pollie Awards.
Alex has extensive experience in driving public affairs campaigns for private and public sector clientele. His business and strategic acumen, coupled with his understanding of effective communications techniques, make for a perfect marriage for any business looking to move the needle or defend itself during a crisis.
Since 2008, Alex has served as strategist for numerous national and local public affairs campaigns. Most recently, he has led the development of cutting edge, digital communications platforms for political clients and on behalf of one of the firm’s Fortune 400 client, Core-Mark International (NASDAQ: CORE). Prior, he was a senior team member for California Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez during her hotly contested and successful 2012 campaign and remains her communications advisor on behalf of the firm.
Prior to joining the firm Alex served as Chief of Staff for a City Councilman in Irvine, California and as a political operative for various California political campaigns. He claims he caught this political bug when after a stint working for an internet company in San Francisco, he was named Deputy Director of Coalitions at the Western Regional Headquarters in Nevada for McCain-Palin 2008 – leading campaign advance and coalitions operations as well as coordinating western regional press events.
A Southern California native, Alex Avetoom earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Legal Studies with a concentration in Political Science and completed digital marketing courses from University of California, Irvine. In addition, Alex holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Golden Gate University School of Law with a concentration in Cyber Law. In his free time he enjoys the California outdoors, technology and zealously follows the National Football League. He was recently married and lives in Sausalito with his wife Cody, a manager at an emerging tech company in San Francisco.
